Our DNA Extraction Kit is recommended for children ages 8 and up. The kit includes everything needed to to extract DNA from fruits or veggies (just add fruit!). This is a great way to get kids started on the concept of DNA and genetics in a concrete way. Seeing really is believing!

It is recommended that younger children work with an adult though risk with this kit is minimal it may involve some fine motor skills. Approximate time for kit completion is estimated to be roughly 30 minutes if child has the help of an adult.

Once DNA is extracted it may be saved in a small tube for your child’s very own keepsake!
