Summer in the Park
This summer we’ve partnered with the Allegheny County Parks Department to offer several new and exciting 100% outdoor programs that contain the perfect blend of discovery, adventure, and STEM!
Hovercraft Human Shuffleboard…Yes it’s real.
Pilot small personal hovercraft and become a human shuffleboard puck and help propel the pilots toward a target on the ground.
Manipulating friction inertia and momentum, participants will score points for landing in the target area.

Rockets and Gravity!
Participants will design, build and launch several different types of rockets in an attempt to escape the gravity of Earth!

make your own Arrowheads!
Learn how to make your own stone age arrowheads from volcanic obsidian, glass and flint, the way that ancient Native Americans used to do it!
When: Saturday June 27th 11am in North Park
Ages: 10+
Explosion Science
Learn why and how explosions occur. Physics, chemistry, deflagration, detonation, pressure wave and all the stuff kids wonder about.
Participants will get to see and set off several different types of small, controlled explosions!
